Amazing Megillot #5: Ketubah&Art

This is a strikingly beautiful contemporary Megillah. I wish I had more info about this piece but the website, ketubahandart.com, has almost no information about the artist behind it. But I love the "dark" look, gold painting and the papercut. I wish I could find an image of it in better quality...

interesting. i'm surprised that a sofer would like this megillah. i'm all for decorations and illustrations to adorn the megillah, but in this case it has taken over the megillah. the actual text seems to occupy a secondary role.

well noted, the text does seem to be "in the woods". But this Megilla's royal look makes it special and different than the rest, and that's something hard to find today. You can pay 50,000 bucks for a Megilla that is supposed to be "it" but it's just a russian-made standard illustrated Megilla... originality is scarce today

quite beautiful! Why wouldn't a spofer be impressed with the beauty and detail? Of course, Halachically, it is best that there are no illuminations but for a collector or for personal use, preferably not to make a bracha on) why not?
